Family Visit

Last weekend we trekked to East Tennessee to see my older brother and sister that were in from Seattle!  This was their first time to meet R so it was a very special occasion!  My Mom's parents and oldest sister and her fiance were also in visiting so it was quite a weekend!  Here are just a few highlights.  My Aunt's fiance took lots of pictures with his camera so I kind of dropped the ball with mine!  Most of my pictures ended up being of everyone in their PJ's playing with R... so I figured I should spare us all and just stick to some of the better ones ;)

We all enjoyed a delicious German dinner at Freiberg's one evening.  I hadn't been here in a few years so I was really pumped to get the Rouladen, my old favorite!

R was fascinated with Christina's hair!  I am too actually... she can pull off so many spunky styles that I could never dream of!

My 82 year old Grandma played David in ping-pong.  She said back in the day she could "really kill it" at this game.  They got in some good volleys and we were all impressed!  Go, Granny, Go!!

On Sunday afternoon the siblings went to Biltmore.  It was a perfect day to go!  There was only a short rain shower that trapped us in the conservatory for awhile.  I kept thinking..."Ms. Peacock, with the rope... in the CONSERVATORY!!! dun da dun!"

We also enjoyed a wine tasting in celebrate of Stephen's 24th Birthday!  woot woot!  I got to be "that mom" that was feeding her baby at the end of the tasting bar and in between spoonfuls asking "what's this again?!, what are we trying now?"  It was a fun time for sure!

Olivia found D's camel back spout at was so enthralled with giving him sips of water!  Gah, she's the cutest!!

Our best friends joined us for a bit.  It was so great to see Dawn and Eric.  We miss you guys so much!!!

Another special memory from the trip was when the ladies went in town with my Aunt to shop for a wedding dress and flower arrangements!  We went to Michael's to help her sort out what she would like for flower arrangements and I get to make her boutonnieres and corsages for the wedding party!  After there we went to the bridal store and she found the most perfect dress!  It was so fun being part of this special time in her life.  I am so happy for you both!!

The morning before we left we did some errands around town and then went to the park by the lake so the R could finish out his nap and then we played on the swings and he went down his first slide!!

Before we parted ways we got to spend some time looking through photos of us kids back when we were in theater and went on family camping trips and such.  It was a great time with lots of laughs!

The weekend went by all to quickly, of course.  My Dad grilled up some fantastic food a couple of nights.  The last night he made ribs which were hands down the most juicy, bark sharked, ribs I've ever had!

Over the weekend our little guy turned 8 months!  He is learning so much just this week.  He has figured out how to feed himself Cheerios, push from the ground to sitting, and gets on all fours and wants to crawl soooo bad.   He is good at scooting backwards and does a semi-army crawl thing forward!

It will be awhile before we see everyone again, C&C hopefully next summer sometime.  I'm so thankful for the time we got to spend together.
